LAUNCHERONE SUPPLY CHAIN

Virgin Orbit is always looking for innovative organizations to help us open space to change the world for good! To fulfill our mission of offering dedicated launch services that are both highly affordable and extremely reliable, we require excellence from our entire supply chain. If your company has what it takes, we’d love to hear from you.

Virgin Orbit aspires to be a leader in corporate sustainability. We are committed to this important journey — as a business partner, an employer, a community leader, and as an environmental steward. By thinking and acting sustainably, we will deliver innovative solutions, and strong financial results to position the company for a strong sustainable future.

Our sustainability emphasis will focus on three primary elements:

Reduce the
environmental footprint of our operations

Transport goods in a manner that minimizes community and environmental impacts. Reduce fuel, energy, water and other resources needed to move each ton-mile of freight. Increase recycling and reuse efforts through waste minimization.

Engage openly on sustainability issues

Collaborate regularly with customers, employees and external stakeholders on sustainability issues, goals and efforts. Provide opportunities to customers, suppliers, employees, and communities to actively participate in sustainability programs.

Support sustainable development

Collaborate with communities to consider social, economic and environmental effects while maintaining the shareholder value. Build a culture that recognizes the importance of innovative infrastructure to support operations and minimize resource use.

We need your help!

Contracting Data

Below, please find links to a series of documents that will be useful to both current and prospective suppliers. We update these files from time to time, so please be sure to check back before submitting proposals or signing contracts, just to ensure you have the latest and greatest versions.

Export Control / ITAR

Virgin Orbit, LLC (“VO”) is fully committed to complying with the U.S. Government’s export control laws and regulations (“Export Control Laws”), including but not limited to the U.S. Department of State’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”), at 22 C.F.R. Parts 120-130 (U.S. Code of Federal Regulations).

To comply with the Export Control Laws, VO has established technical procedures and physical measures to prevent the inadvertent release or disclosure of any technical data that is regulated by the Export Control Laws to foreign nationals or other unauthorized parties. For example, VO requires the use of encrypted email to transfer any technical data regulated by the Export Control Laws.

VO is currently using encrypted FTP system called “Relay” located at: Relay.LauncherOne.com

As a VO supplier, you are required to have procedures in place to comply with the Export Control Laws. VO requires all VO suppliers to send any information regulated by the Export Control Laws, including ITAR technical data, via a secure, electronic transmission method. As a reminder, failure to comply with the Export Control Laws may result in the termination of your PO/agreement with VO.

If you have any questions concerning VO’s requirements of its suppliers, please contact your VO representative. But if you have any questions on how to comply with the Export Control Laws, you should seek independent legal advice.

Supplier Quality Assurance

We make products that go to space. They travel at many times the speed of sound, and direct large amounts of energy. It is equal parts awesome and unforgiving.

As you would imagine, we’ve got processes in place to make sure that every part, every tool, and every bit of material involved in developing, testing, and operating LauncherOne meets our demanding quality standards. At the same time, we are a commercial company offering a low-cost solution, so these processes are by necessity efficient and lean.

Below, please find a series of links to PDFs that lay out our supplier quality processes.
